Wow so it has been a very long while since I have posted anything. so with no further delay I would like to share something with you that I have come to realize that is happening a lot around me lately haha. gone are the days of going to 18th birthday parties or even a 21st now I find my self getting more wedding invitations than anything else. So of cause it got me thinking as any girl would of what my special day will be like haha.
Now of cause I cant give away all my secrets but I will show you a few pics that I thought were pretty awesome and might give you girlies some ideas for your special day one day or if you know of a friend that is tying the knot soon.:)
Now by profession I am an Interior designer so Naturally anything that has to do with making something look pretty or recreating a space is going to grab my attention but this picture caught my eye for a different reason. I love nature and I love the fact that the elements used here are minimal using nature to be the focal point of the whole concept.
The Bird cages give such a mystical feel and blend right in with the surroundings yet you notice them straight away. The table setting is what I would call elegant and timeless yet also vintage and unimposing in its stature.
You might look at this picture and think this is pretty but how can I really use it for me whether its a wedding or even just a party or special occasion I find there are a few little different unique things that made me happy. Take the left hand side picture with the vintage frames. I love this not only does it give the room character and warmth but it adds a personal touch as you could fill the frames with pictures of you and your friends, family and loved ones. It really will make your guests feel like you put an effort into the design as its a way of appreciating the fact that they could spend this special day with you.
The lanterns in the trees are amazing. Lighting is a very important part of creating a specific type of ambiance but many people dont think about what the lampshade looks like as apposed to the effect the light is going to give but I think these lanterns are so beautiful that whether there is light shining from them or not they still look apart of the design and not just for function.
The little black board I think is so cute and also another creative personal touch, I mean how awesome would it be to have a bigger board with messages from friends and family of how they are enjoying them selves at your wedding/bday party, after all life is also about living in the moment and capturing the essence of what is happening right then and there.
ITS ALL ABOUT THE DETAIL
For me when it comes to planning wedding or party when it comes down to it being something that stays in the memory bank its that there was effort put into making it look and feel great. how many times have you walked into a room and thought wow this is amazing but the more time you spend in that room you realize that its actually pretty boring and you find your eyes wondering. what better way than to put something special and surprising on your place settings or instead of having flowers as your center piece, be different and put something there that means something to you or to your guests.
Yes Yes I know you have been waiting for me to talk about the dress I mean after all thats all we care about anyway right :) (JOKES) so the dress! its so important that we choose the right dress. you will have photos of this dress FOREVER! so choose wisely ladies. I would say when it comes to choosing your dress you need to think of a few things. HOW WILL I LOOK DIFFERENT TO MY GUESTS, you want to stand out on your wedding day, I know the in thing now is to maybe not wear a white dress but then you risk the fact that maybe you and " Aunt Suzie" will be matching on that day, Is that what you want? I think not. next question is HOW WILL I FIT INTO MY SURROUNDINGS? If you are having an out side wedding where there will be lots of trees and flowers then the best thing you can do is have a very simple dress so that you adapt to where you are that way you will draw the right attention, you want people look at you and say wow she looks stunning in that dress rather than wow she blends in with that tree or you can see her dress was inspired by her center piece. Another important one is IS IT MADE FOR ME? girls ok so I know getting a dress made is pricey but get a dress that is custom made for you rather than buying a designer dress that is in that season but does not flatter you at the least. Wear the dress dont let the dress wear you! ! !
